My #Pondathon Adventure Begins!

Pondathon: The Quiet Pond's story-driven readathon. Image: Two swords with vines wrapped around it frame the words 'Pondathon', with three little forest sprites sitting on top. One forest sprite has a leaf on its head, the middle has twigs for horns, and the right has a mushroom on its head.

This is probably the most adorable readathon I have ever seen!

With my college classes back in session, finding time to read has been tough. I want to continue reading the books I love without it becoming extra pressure or another to-do list item. Pondathon is my solution to that. It’s fun, easy, and a great motivator to help keep reading in my schedule.

What is the Pondathon?

It would probably be better if you checked out CW’s explanation, but I’ll give you the short version.

The Pondathon is a readathon hosted and run by CW from The Quiet Pond. It takes place from January 24, 2020 to March 7, 2020.

Now, here’s the extra fun part! You can create a character, join a team, collect points, go on side quests, and fight against dark forces. There’s also a story that goes along with the readathon, so you can follow along as it unfolds.

My Pond Character

Kulfi character card

My Pond Character is Kulfi! Kulfi is an otter who loves sweets and trying new foods. She is a member of Team Xiaolong, and has been tasked with fighting at the frontlines against the darkness that threatens the Pond. Kulfi is not normally a warrior, but she is always ready to protect her friends and the forest. Her skills include basic magic spells, reading, and eating.

My Pondathon TBR

Since I am using this readathon to help motivate me to read during my school semester, I have not planned many books.

Here are the two I have planned:

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite series. I have been wanting to reread Cinder for awhile, and it happened to be picked as the February read for the book club I am participating in. Since I joined the readathon late, this one lines up perfectly as my first book for Pondathon.

Geekerella by Ashley Poston

For those of you who don’t know, I am a complete sucker for Cinderella retellings. Geekerella is such a cute read, and I am hoping to reread it before the end of February (and in time for Valentine’s Day!).

I definitely suggest joining Pondathon if you can. Even though I just joined a few days ago, it has already been a lot of fun.

Until next time, happy reading! ♡
