When life happens and you can’t be in Santa Monica for YALLWEST…
…YALLSTAYHOME saves the day!

Two weeks ago, I was able to attend YALLSTAYHOME from the comfort of my bed. The book festival did an amazing job shifting to a virtual set-up in such a short amount of time. Lots of giveaways were held throughout the two weeks leading up to the event, and panels were extended to include the full weekend. There were even extra events, including an Instagram Live of Soman Chainani learning TikTok dances.

The Bookish Travel Guide: New York City

Last year (June 2018) I was finally able to cross New York off my travel bucketlist. I saw the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, The Book of Mormon (Broadway!!!), and so much more. As a book nerd, however, I had to “bookify” my trip a little.

YALLWEST 2019

Santa Monica is known for its beach, pier, and seaside amusement park. On Saturday, May 4, however, the coastal city was home to the popular young adult and middle grade book festival known as YALLWEST. As the sister festival to the east coast’s YALLFEST, the event was full of games, panels, book signings, giveaways, and many more exciting activities.
